Xylitol has been a game-changer to oral health in Asia. Xylitol is a plant-based sugar alcohol that significantly reduces plaque buildup on teeth. Xylitol significantly reduces the ability of harmful bacteria to produce plaque while leaving beneficial bacteria unharmed. It also remineralizes the teeth as it binds with calcium. Be careful with your dogs though, cuz eating large amounts of Xylitol can lead to liver failure or death!

PS. Lotte is a Korean company that was started in Tokyo by Shin Kyuk-ho after graduating from Waseda Business School in Tokyo. Shin Kyuk-ho came from a family of pig farmers, but he had ambitions to start a gum factory in Tokyo. He changed his name to Takeo Shigemitsu and made gum and chocolates for the Japanese market before moving Lotte to South Korea in the late 60's. His is a true rags-to-riches story and he was so successful that he singlehandedly lifted Korea out of poverty after the war of the 50's. I try and keep Fulamingo's products focused on Japanese items, but I certainly make an exception for Lotte.
