This is THE OG katsu sauce! As in, this is katsu sauce made by the company that first invented katsu sauce in 1948! It's a little less sweet and slightly spicier (as in more spices, not hot) than the standard Bulldog Sauce.
This Katsu Sauce is made with fruits and veggies (tomatoes, onion, carrot, apple, etc) plus a secret blend of spices. This is a style of Japanese Worcestershire sauce (think yakisoba sauce, okonomiyaki sauce, katsu sauce, takoyaki sauce). These styles of sauces are thicker and sweeter than western Worcestershire sauces and they are used as seasoning as well as for dipping sauces. Don't even think about eating katsu (tonkatsu, chicken katsu, gyuu katsu) without katsu sauce (and karashi mustard!)! But also you can use this to season your Japanese curry, eat with Japanese hamburger steak, or meatloaf. And yeah, I sometimes dip chicken nuggets in it too. (Sidebar: you can make it thicker and fruitier by cutting it with ketchup too).
