Drunken Whale is a punchy, lively, light-bodied sake. At the core of its profile, it is a rice-driven, light, earthy junmai, but it carries a nice amount of spice, astringency, and a light and lively acidity that keep things quite fun and refreshing. Drunken Whale is not all about being shy. It is about being playful and delicious.

Drunken Whale pairs nicely with spiced and hearty dishes, like arroz con pollo, chicken mole, and curry rice. It can be enjoyed chilled, room temperature, or warm.

Suigei Drunken Whale is made with rice polished to 55%. Although it has such a high ratio of rice polishing, it remains very much in the Junmai-style camp and doesn't really veer into the heavily fruited and floral territory of Ginjo-style sakes of the same polishing ratio.
