Sudachi is a small, tart, and aromatic lime that is a relative of Yuzu, and Narutotai is located in Tokushima Prefecture of Shikoku Island, where Sudachi originates. This bright and fun Junmai Ginjo sake is infused with locally-grown, Tokushima Sudachi citrus.
I love this sake on the rocks, and even with a splash of soda. It also makes a fun cocktail ingredient! The flavor and aroma are fresh and citrusy, and a little floral. If you are familiar with Yuzu fruit, and Yuzu sakes, you'll find a familiar floral-ness here, however, the Sudachi is unmistakeably much more lime than the lemoniness of Yuzu. This sake is also different from the Yuzu sake we stock, in that it is born from the fresh Sudachi fruit being infused in the sake, rather than fruit juice being mixed in. What results is totally clear and much lighter in texture. Less about the juice and more about the sake.
This is a surprising crowd-pleaser, low in alcohol, and super inviting in flavor! It's only 8% alcohol, by volume. The bottle is 720ml.
