These are butter, coconut, or nori flavored Japanese animal biscuits. They are comically simplistic in shape but the snap and the flavor of the cookie itself more than make up for it. They're somewhere between a butter cracker and a cookie, and they're very lightly savory and sweet. These have been a staple for Japanese kids for a long time but if you like cookies that aren't too sweet, you just might love them too!
Coconut: Sweet, savory, and lightly coconutty :)
Nori: Nori flavored snacks are always my favorite. These are salty and have that beautiful taste of aonori I can't get enough of. They definitely lean more towards savory than sweet.
Butter: Simple buttery biscuits with just a hint of sweetness
Banana: Simple, not too sweet, and not too strong on the banana flavor but there's just enough. And you know Japanese banana flavor is actually good, right?! It's giving banana pudding with Nilla wafers.
These cookies are actually educational snacks for kids. They're meant to teach Japanese kids animal names in English, so they all have their names stamped on them. If it weren't for the titles, I'd have no idea what they were, lol. (BTW The Pea Fowl is one of my favorites). I think every box contains one of each animal, with 46 animals represented. That's Japanese attention to detail, lol.
